Hello,
My name is Gerrard T Wilson; For many years, like many people, I promised to write a book without ever seeming to get around to it. Then one cold, wet December afternoon while lazing in front of the TV watching an old Laurel and Hardy movie I felt strangely inspired to begin – Wot, Nott, Kakuri and the HU BA HOU (pronounced HOW) is the first result.
Although I found it to be quite time consuming I was pleasantly surprised at how easy I found the process to be, and wish I had begun years earlier. If anyone were to ask me where my ideas for the story come from I would have to say that many of them are inspired by my life experiences (though with a lot of imagination added), and the rest from right out of the blue, straight out of thin air so to speak. I usually get a sliver of an idea that, almost before I know it, develops into a whole lot more – it always amazes me, it’s like magic. I get a real buzz from writing and the more imaginative and creative it is the happier I am. I am also hugely inspired by authors Darren Shan and fellow Tullovian Herbie Brennan. If I could be even half as good as either of them that would be fine with me!
I have always loved travelling and exploring exotic places both near and far. Down through the years have visited many countries, some very different from rural Ireland . I love Africa and have, in the past, spent some time working in Nigeria and Liberia . I spent five years in Australia and have since returned to it on numerous occasions travelling around it quite extensively. One of my favourite countries is The Philippines – I love the hustle and bustle of Manila, and riding on the wonderfully decorated ‘jeepneys’.
In 1999 I went back to school for a year as a mature student studying Art and Design, I really enjoyed the experience and graduated with flying colours receiving a student of the year award.
Since finishing the first instalment of the Wot and Nott trilogy, I have got half-way through the second one.
I have also begun a story called Greengrocer Jack and the Talking Cabbages, I have finished a series of short stories about ‘MY CRAZY LIFE, and believe me, it has been crazy, and I am at present putting the final touches to a series of twenty Christmas stories.

Next is a story called ‘On Top of the World’ – The Continuing Adventues of a girl named Alice (need I say more, except to say that it’s about as strange and querky as the original Alice in Wonderland story?)
Take a quick look at God, Dog and Beelzebub!!!
Oh, I almost forgot to tell you that I have started a series of short stories for younger readers, called the Three Little Sisters.
Well, that’s it for now.
All the best, from gerry wilson
P.S. I am looking for the services of a good agent and publisher. Any suggestions
